Former South Korean labor minister Kim Moon-soo registered his presidential candidacy for the ruling People Power Party with the National Election Commission on Sunday. A motion to replace Kim with former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo as the party's candidate had been voted down by a majority of members on Saturday. The party leadership has been criticized for the confusion. Han told reporters on Sunday that he will let go of everything and return to being an ordinary citizen. He also indicated he would support Kim in the presidential race. Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party and the leader of the New Reform Party, Lee Jun-seok, have also registered their candidacies. Official election campaigning will begin on Monday.
