Japanese soccer star Miura Kazuyoshi has made his debut for Oliveirense in Portugal's second division, making him the oldest player ever in the country's professional league at the age of 56 years and one month. Liga Portugal's official site says Miura, known to his fans as "King Kazu," played the final minutes of Oliveirense's away game against Academico de Viseu on Saturday. Oliveirense won the game 4-1. Miura is a former member of Japan's national team. He joined Oliveirense on a loan deal until the end of this season, which marks his 38th year as a pro. The veteran player had said on his 56th birthday on February 26 that he would do his best to remain on the pitch as long as possible, and contribute to his team's victory.
