A: Hey buddy! Guess what?
B: What's up?
A: Did you hear about Japan's tourism record last month?
B: No, really? What happened?
A: More than 3.9 million foreign travelers visited Japan in April! That's a new record for a single month!
B: Wow, that's amazing! What was the reason behind it?
A: Seems like cherry blossom season was the main factor, but also an increase in flights between Japan and South Korea.
B: China topped the list with 765,100 visitors, up 43.4 percent from last year! That's the highest ever for April.
A: Yep, and South Korea wasn't far behind with a 9.1% increase to 721,600 travelers. The U.S. also saw an increase of 43.1% with 327,500 tourists.
B: Incredible! I hope they can handle the influx without any problems.
A: Well, the tourism agency's commissioner says they plan to maintain this positive momentum. But he mentioned that if numbers keep surging, they might face issues like longer wait times at entry procedures. So, measures are being put in place to prepare for such situations.
