A: Hey there, what's the latest? B: Not much, just living life here in Japan. Oh, wait! There's some news from back home... A: What's up? Is it about that Middle East thing again? B: Yeah, you know, the Gaza Strip issue. Hamas agreed to a ceasefire proposal! A: Really? That's good news! What's in this proposal? B: It says they'll stop fighting for 60 days and talk about ending the conflict. They also have to release some hostages and let aid supplies enter daily. A: Wow, that sounds like a big step forward. So, Israel is on board with this too? B: Well, Israeli Defense Forces Chief said they'll keep striking Gaza until Hamas is defeated, but Netanyahu admitted that Hamas is feeling the pressure. A: Seems like a tough situation, but hopefully things will calm down soon! B: Yeah, let's hope for peace and stability in the region. Let's get back to our daily life here in Japan now! 😄 ---------------- The Islamic group Hamas has reportedly agreed to a proposal that includes a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The move followed an announcement by Israel that it would expand military operations in Gaza amid stalled ceasefire negotiations. Israeli Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff Eyal Zamir said on Sunday that Israel would continue to strike Gaza until Hamas was decisively defeated. Hamas issued a statement on Monday saying it has approved the proposal, which was presented by Egyptian and Qatari mediators. Local media say the proposal includes a 60-day suspension of fighting and a resumption of negotiations to end the conflict. The proposal stipulates that Hamas will release 10 living hostages, who account for one fifth of the total hostages held captive in Gaza. It also says 600 trucks will be allowed to enter Gaza daily to deliver aid supplies. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on Monday that people can be impressed by one thing -- "Hamas is under immense pressure." ---------------- Quiz 1: The proposal to bring a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was presented by which of the following countries?
