B: Not much, what's up?

A: Well, remember that conflict between Israel and Hamas? It started two years ago.
B: Yeah, I recall something like that. What's new about it?

A: Recently, Hamas released a US woman and her daughter on humanitarian grounds. Crazy, right?
B: Wow! That's amazing. So, there was some kind of ceasefire after the hostages were freed?

A: Yeah, it did. Qatar and others helped mediate a truce about a month later. During that time, Hamas let go of around 100 Israeli and foreign captives in just seven days!
B: That's incredible! But what happened after the ceasefire?

A: Well, over the next few months, Hamas handed over more people. Sadly, some hostages didn't make it out alive – at least 59 have reportedly died in captivity.
B: That's so sad... I hope those who lost their loved ones find some peace.
