The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven industrialized nations say they are united in their "condemnation in the strongest possible terms of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine." The ministers issued a joint statement on Tuesday about "Russia's illegal annexation of sovereign Ukrainian territory." They say Russian President Vladimir Putin's efforts to incorporate the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions into his country's territory constitute "a new low point in Russia's blatant flouting of international law." They add that those efforts are "yet another example of Russia's unacceptable violations of Ukraine's sovereignty." The ministers say they will "impose further economic costs on Russia." They also say that they want Moscow to immediately withdraw all of its troops from Ukraine.
