A group of South Koreans have cooked their country&#039;s dishes for evacuees in Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, which was struck by the January 1, Noto Peninsula earthquake.
                
About 30 people, including officials from the South Korean embassy in Tokyo and other South Koreans living in Japan, prepared meals at an evacuation center in Nanao City on Tuesday.
                
They cooked samgyetang soup using large pots placed under a tent. The ingredients included chicken, Asian ginseng and garlic.
                
They then served a lunch of samgyetang, Korean pickles of kimchi and three other items to about 140 evacuees.
                
The evacuees savored the food, with some of them sitting on cardboard beds.
                
A 77-year-old man said the soup was delicious and the light taste was fit for seniors like him. He added that he is worried about money to restore his life to normal as he depends on a pension.
                
South Korean Ambassador to Japan Yun Duk-min said people in his country eat samgyetang to recover their spirits. He also noted he is happy the evacuees said the dish was delicious. He added he hopes the evacuees will be able to return to their normal life at an early date.
