Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he may consider the idea of deploying foreign troops in his country before it gains NATO membership. Zelenskyy made the comment on Monday in reference to remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron. Macron said in February that nothing should be excluded including the possibility of Western countries dispatching ground troops to Ukraine. But Zelenskyy said Ukraine must first have a clear understanding of when it will be able to join NATO. The Ukrainian president rejected a US call to lower the draft age for Ukrainians to secure personnel to fight against Russia. Writing on social media, he said priority should be on providing Ukraine with missiles so as to lower Russia's military potential, and not his country's draft age. Ukraine lowered the age of conscription from 27 to 25 in April.
