US President Donald Trump has hit out at China's new export controls on rare earths. He's threatening to hit back with "massive" tariffs, and pull out of a possible summit with President Xi Jinping. Beijing announced plans on Thursday to ban rare earth exports for military use and limit exports of related technologies, including smelting and processing. Trump slammed the decision on Friday via social media.
