The US Navy&#039;s 7th Fleet says its guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn sailed through the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday.

The statement by the Commander of the 7th Fleet Public Affairs reads: &quot;John Finn&#039;s transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States&#039; commitment to upholding freedom of navigation for all nations as a principle.&quot;
                
It also says, &quot;No member of the international community should be intimidated or coerced into giving up their rights and freedoms.&quot;
                
Responding to the move, a spokesperson for the Chinese military&#039;s Eastern Theater Command of China&#039;s People&#039;s Liberation Army issued a statement through its official account on a social media platform.
                
It reads, &quot;Recently, the US military has frequently carried out provocative actions, maliciously undermining regional peace and stability.&quot;
