Japan confirms 126,989 new coronavirus cases, 357 deaths on Tuesday NHK

Japan's health ministry says it confirmed 126,989 new coronavirus cases and 357 deaths nationwide on Tuesday.

The number of seriously ill patients stands at 690, up three from Monday.

In Tokyo, 11,120 new cases were confirmed. The daily tally rose 3,658 from a week ago.

The ministry also confirmed 31 deaths in the capital. The number of seriously ill patients stands at 48, up three from Monday.
