South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol is set to face another impeachment vote this week. The main opposition party plans to submit a motion on Thursday.
                
The opposition Democratic Party now expects the second impeachment vote will be held on Saturday.
                
Two-thirds of the National Assembly must vote in favor for the motion to pass. The opposition camp does not have the necessary seats, so it is urging members of the ruling People Power Party to back impeachment. At least eight PPP lawmakers are needed to reach the threshold.
                
The party has been harshly criticized for boycotting the proceedings. Local media say five PPP members are now considering voting for impeachment.
                
President Yoon had said it&#039;s up to the party to stabilize the situation. So far, the PPP&#039;s working team has presented two proposals. One is to have Yoon step down in February and hold an early presidential election in April. The other is to have Yoon resign in March and hold an election in May.
