Flooding in eastern Spain leaves more than 60 dead NHK

Flooding in a wide area in eastern Spain has reportedly left more than 60 people dead.

Heavy rainfall from Tuesday to Wednesday flooded buildings and caused other damage in Valencia, eastern Spain.

Local media on Wednesday cited authorities as saying many roads have been cut, with hundreds of people left isolated.

Footage from an affected area shows a rescue team evacuating residents from an upper floor of a building in an inundated district.

Officials are examining the situation as there are reports of missing people. Military personnel have also been dispatched and are conducting search and rescue operations.
