Japanese emergency responders have left for quake-hit Turkey to provide medical support and join rescue operations. Three members of the nonprofit organization TMAT took off from Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Tuesday evening. The advance team will stay in Turkey for about 10 days to survey the situation in affected areas and determine the demand for medical assistance. Doctor Sakamoto Takamitsu said he wants to know what he can do among many doctors who will come from all over the world. Nurse Nishimura Hirokazu expressed hope to help people access medical services while ensuring safety. Also on Tuesday, 55 aid workers left for Turkey as the second batch of the government's emergency response team.
