A total of 110 men filed lawsuits with courts in Tokyo, Osaka and elsewhere in Japan on Wednesday, demanding a refund from a chain of body hair removal clinics for men.
                
Wolf Clinic had offered laser hair removal services for men in some Japanese cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.
                
Lawyers say those clinics suspended services in April, and some of the plaintiffs have not received treatment at all.
                
The lawyers say they have received more than 700 complaints, particularly from those in their 20s and 30s. They say the average amount each plaintiff paid to the clinics is 210,000 yen, or about 1,500 dollars.
                
One of the plaintiffs says he paid 400,000 yen, or about 2,870 dollars, for a total-body hair removal course at a Wolf Clinic in Tokyo&#039;s Ikebukuro district.
                
He says he signed the contract because a medical doctor was the person in charge, making the clinic seem trustworthy. But he says he is outraged at the current situation and wants to hold the clinic accountable.
                
The company that was involved in operating the clinics is reportedly preparing to file for bankruptcy.
                
The company&#039;s lawyer told NHK that the company is aware of those who are complaining about this matter and wants to make efforts to file for bankruptcy as soon as possible so they can be compensated in some way.
