Police in the city of Kumamoto, southwestern Japan, have arrested a man on suspicion of injuring a bus driver and four passengers in an apparent road-rage incident. The 59-year-old self-employed man is alleged to have tailgated a bus on an expressway in his luxury sports car on February 5. The long-distance bus was heading for Fukuoka City on the Kyushu Expressway. The police said that as soon as the bus left a bus stop and entered a driving lane, the man's car approached from behind at high speed and followed the bus for about 800 meters. Footage from the bus's on-board cameras showed a white sports car approaching from behind, then moving to the passing lane. The car then approached the bus from the side and closed in while honking its horn repeatedly. The car proceeded to cut in front of the bus, then suddenly slowed down twice and stopped on the road. The bus braked, but hit the back of the car. Footage from another camera inside the bus showed passengers being thrust forward as the bus hit the car. The driver and four passengers sustained minor injuries. Police say the suspect admitted to the allegations, saying he was upset when the bus cut in front of him.
