A: Oh, you mean the tariff thingy? Donald said he's gonna add a 100% one on all imports from China!
B: What?! Really? That sounds serious... And he's also controlling software exports, right?
A: Yup, anything "critical" from US to them. This is getting intense, man!
B: I wonder how they'll react... Seems like they already did something. They tightened the control on rare earth minerals export, you know?
A: Yeah, they need a license now for any product with even a small amount of those minerals. Bad news for tech industry and semiconductors, solar panels too.
B: Sounds like an escalation... He called it "absolutely unheard of" and a "moral disgrace". What a fight!
A: It's crazy! Trump said these new tariffs will start on November 1st, but he might still meet with President Xi Jinping. Stocks dropped after the announcement though... Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq all down big time.
B: Ouch, tech companies got hit hard. Nvidia and Tesla lost around 5% each!
A: And crypto markets too! Liquidations were even worse than during the FTX collapse.
B: Wow, this is getting more serious day by day... Let's hope it doesn't affect us here in Japan much.
