Muslims in Japan's capital are praying for the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. About a thousand people took part in special ceremonies and Friday prayers at the mosque in Shibuya Ward. Many said they wanted to connect through their faith, and find ways to help survivors. "People lost their lives and their families are grieving. Some fathers and mothers have lost their children," said Muhammet Rifat Cinar, the Imam of Tokyo Camii. "What we can do from Japan to help them start a new life is to provide as much mental and financial support as possible," he said. The mosque has been collecting donations since the quakes struck, which will be sent to aid people in the affected areas.
