French investigators have searched the headquarters of the organizing committee for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics over allegations of corruption.
The investigators said on Tuesday they raided the committee's headquarters and the office of a public body in charge of developing infrastructure for the Games.
They said the search is part of two preliminary investigations -- one that opened in 2017 and another in 2022. They noted that the committee and the public body are suspected of being involved in illicit gains, embezzlement and other misconduct over contracts.
The organizing committee admitted its head office was searched, and said it will fully cooperate with the investigators.
