Food makers target busy parents with fast meals for kids NHK

Food makers in Japan are targeting working parents with a range of quick, easy-to-make meals for young kids.

House Foods Group recently launched a line of frozen food for children aged up to around six.

The 12 options include dishes such as hamburger steak and creamed fish, and include plenty of vegetables.

The company home-delivers the meals on a subscription basis.

An official with the firm says the aim is to give busy moms and dads more time with their kids.

Another company, Ezaki Glico, is enjoying success with small cartons of liquid baby formula that are good for nine months. That's one-and-a-half times the normal shelf life.

The firm recorded a nearly three-fold increase in sales of liquid baby formula in the October-December period compared to the year before.
