The World Bank says 486 billion dollars will be needed over the next decade to fund the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine. It says damage caused directly by Russia's invasion nearly two years ago has reached almost 152 billion dollars. Housing, transport, commerce and agriculture are the most affected sectors. The bank says Ukrainian authorities believe that 15 billion dollars will be needed for immediate reconstruction and recovery work this year alone. Of that amount, 9.5 billion dollars is reportedly still unfunded. The World Bank is stressing the need for continued support from the international community. It also notes the need for efforts to launch private-sector investment. The bank's latest estimate was compiled with the Ukrainian government, the United Nations and the European Commission.
