A Russian state-run news agency says drone flights have been banned in about 40 regions of the country. The report from RIA Novosti came after Russia's presidential office accused Ukraine on Wednesday of using drones to strike the Kremlin. The Kremlin claims the attack was an attempt to kill President Vladimir Putin, and that the United States was involved. The report says the regions now banning drone flights include Moscow, Saint Petersburg and others near the border with Ukraine. Meanwhile, state-run TASS news agency reported on Friday on a fire at a fuel storage facility in the Krasnodar region, near Crimea. TASS quoted Russian authorities as saying the blaze was caused by a drone attack and engulfed an area of 60 square meters. Another fire was reported at an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region on Wednesday and Thursday. Media reports say both incidents were caused by drone attacks. Observers say Russian authorities are on heightened alert following the series of fires. Britain's defense ministry says the "disruption to the fuel storage and distribution network will likely force adjustments to Russia's military refueling operations to mitigate targeting."
