The Chinese government has hit out at the United States for selling F-16 fighter jet parts to Taiwan. A defense ministry spokesperson described the move as a "gross violation of the one-China principle."
Officials in Washington announced the 300-million-dollar deal on Wednesday.

The deal is the first US arms sale to Taiwan since President Lai Ching-te took office last month.
The spokesperson also said Washington's support for "Taiwan independence separatist forces" will eventually see Taiwan "shoot itself in the foot."
