US President Donald Trump says he will speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, apparently about the US's proposal for a ceasefire with Ukraine.
Trump spoke to reporters about talks with Russia while flying to Washington on Air Force One on Sunday.
He said: "We will see if we have something to announce, maybe on Tuesday. I'll be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday."
He went on to say: "A lot of work's been done over the weekend. We want to see if we can bring that war to an end. Maybe we can, maybe we can't, but I think we have a very good chance."
Trump is expected to ask Putin to accept a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.
When asked about what concessions are being considered from Putin, Trump said: "We'll be talking about land. We'll be talking about power plants."
He added that "a lot of land is a lot different than it was before the war."
Trump went on to say: "We have a lot of it already discussed very much by both sides, Ukraine and Russia. We are already talking about that, dividing up certain assets."
