Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed a special summit to bring peace to his country.
Speaking to an online summit meeting of the Group of Seven member countries on Monday, Zelenskyy suggested convening a "Global Peace Formula Summit" to decide how and when to implement the points of the Ukrainian peace plan.
Zelenskyy advanced the 10-point peace plan when he attended online the Group of 20 summit in Indonesia in November.
The proposal includes securing the safety of the country's nuclear power plants, restoring Ukrainian territorial integrity and the full withdrawal of Russian forces.
He has not made it clear if the proposal represents conditions for Ukraine to sit down to peace talks. But he is believed to have the intention to make clear what his country would claim when such talks begin.
During Monday's G7 meeting, he also said Russia should take "a concrete meaningful step towards a diplomatic settlement."
