French President Emmanuel Macron took to social media on Friday to pay tribute to the late "Dragon Ball" creator, Toriyama Akira. Macron posted a photo of a gift the artist gave him -- an illustration bearing Toriyama's autograph. The president wrote in both French and Japanese, "To Toriyama Akira and the millions of his fans." French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also wrote in a social media post that "even the powers of the crystal balls and Shenron won't be able to bring him back," referring to the magical balls and the wish-granting dragon in "Dragon Ball." Attal added that Toriyama definitely brought manga and Japanese culture to France.
