Major shipping firms in Denmark and France have announced partial resumption of services through the Red Sea.
                
Many international carriers have suspended passage through the sea amid concerns about attacks on ships by Yemen&#039;s anti-government Houthi group. The group has attacked a number of vessels in recent months in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza.
                
Denmark&#039;s A.P. Moller-Maersk on Wednesday released the latest schedules for its container ships showing some vessels will return to routes that include the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
                
The firm cited the US-led operation to protect vessels as a factor in its decision.
                
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin earlier announced the multinational initiative to safeguard commercial shipping. He said it would bring together at least 10 countries, including Britain, Bahrain and Canada.
                
On Tuesday, France&#039;s CMA CGM also announced some vessels had passed through the Red Sea.
                
Other firms, including the major British oil company BP, the Swiss shipping giant MSC, and Taiwan&#039;s Evergreen Marine, continue to reroute their vessels.
