Trump moves to end federal contracts with Harvard, reports say NHK

A: Hey buddy, did you hear about the latest news?
B: No, what's up?

A: The Trump administration wants to cut ties with Harvard University! Can you believe it?
B: Really? Why would they do that?

A: Seems like they sent a letter asking federal agencies to end their contracts with Harvard. They might be worth around 100 million dollars, including training for the Department of Homeland Security.
B: Wow, that's a lot of money! What's the reason behind this?

A: Well, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Trump prefers giving taxpayer money to trade schools and state schools instead. She thinks they promote American values and educate people for the skills we need in our economy and society.
B: So, she's saying there's a need for more electricians and plumbers than LGBTQ graduates from Harvard?

A: Exactly! She even said that. And get this, they've already frozen part of Harvard's funding, and they might even revoke its tax-exempt status.
B: That sounds pretty serious. What do you think will happen next?

A: Who knows? But keep an eye on the news, it's going to be interesting to see how this unfolds!

Reuters news agency and other media outlets reported that the Trump administration sent a letter to federal agencies on Tuesday, instructing them to review and potentially end their contracts with the university.

She noted that those schools are "promoting American values, but most importantly, educating the next generation based on skills that we need in our economy and our society."

Leavitt stressed the need for more electricians and plumbers than "LGBTQ graduate majors from Harvard University."

The Trump administration has already frozen part of Harvard's funding. It has also announced its intention to revoke the university's tax-exempt status.
