The Japanese government is arranging a meeting with Ukraine in Germany next week, with the attendance of both the public and private sectors, to continue discussions on rebuilding the war-torn country.
Representatives of about 60 firms from the two countries, as well as Ukrainian government officials including Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, are expected to take part in the meeting, to be held on the sidelines of an international conference in Berlin discussing Ukraine's reconstruction.
They are expected to report on the progress of Japan's assistance for Ukraine agreed upon in February.
The participants are expected to agree on more than 10 new cooperation projects, covering agriculture, renewable energy, housing construction and other areas.
In February, Tokyo hosted the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction. The two countries came up with seven areas of support, including social infrastructure and removing land mines, and exchanged documents on more than 50 cooperation projects.
