The founder and former CEO of the failed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Samuel Bankman-Fried, has been released on bail of 250 million dollars. US media quoted an assistant attorney of the federal court in New York as saying that the sum is believed to be "the largest federal pretrial bond ever." Bankman-Fried was released on Thursday after his court appearance. He was extradited from the Bahamas the previous day. As further conditions for his release, the federal court ordered him to live at his parents' home in California, wear an electronic monitoring bracelet and surrender his passport. The federal court has indicted the former CEO on eight charges, including fraud and money laundering. The next court hearing is scheduled for January 3. The focus will be on whether the trial will be able to uncover what caused the exchange's collapse.
