Myanmar&#039;s ruling military junta has extended a ceasefire with pro-democracy forces until April 30. The move is meant to facilitate relief and reconstruction efforts following last month&#039;s devastating earthquake that killed more than 3,700 people and left over 100 others missing.

A representative for the pro-democracy forces told NHK that intermittent airstrikes in the northwestern Sagaing region have led to civilian casualties.
