Two passenger trains have collided in eastern India, killing at least 233 people. Local media say the disaster occurred in the state of Odisha on Friday evening when one train derailed. Another train on the nearby track crashed into the overturned carriages. Officials say about 900 passengers have been injured. Rescue crews are searching for people among the wreckage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Twitter that his thoughts are with the bereaved families. The Associated Press says several hundred accidents occur every year on India's railways, the world's largest network managed by a single entity.
