A: Hey there! Heard anything interesting today?
   B: Not much, just the usual. Why? What's up?

A: Well, check this out! Trump announced he's gonna add an extra 100% tax on stuff coming from China!
   B: Whoa, that sounds serious! When does it start?

A: November 1st, but things might move faster if China makes any more changes. He's also saying they'll control exports of critical software too.
   B: That's some tough talk! Did he say why he's doing this?

A: Yup! He said it's a response to China tightening export controls on rare earths, which are pretty important for tech stuff. He called it shocking and really bad for the world.
   B: Hmmm... That doesn't sound good for our relationship with China. What about that meeting with President Xi?

A: Trump said he's still going to meet Xi at a forum in South Korea, but he seems unsure now if it'll happen. He didn't cancel it yet though.
   B: I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next. This could mean another round of conflicts between Washington and Beijing.
   A: You're not kidding! Observers think that if the new tariff goes through, things will get worse for sure.
