A: President Lee from South Korea talked to NHK. He's meeting with Prime Minister Takaichi soon!

B: Oh really? What did he say?

A: He’s really optimistic about getting along better with Japan! He thinks they can work together on a lot of things.

B: That's good! I hope so. What about Takaichi? Did he say anything about her?

A: He said she’s super energetic and passionate! He seems to like her.

B: Haha, that's nice! Any big topics they're going to talk about?

A: Lots! Security stuff, trade… He wants them to meet more often to solve problems.

B: Oh, like the CPTPP? Is South Korea trying to join that?

A: Exactly! He wants to join that trade agreement that Japan is already in.

B: Wow, that's ambitious! What else did he mention?

A: He’s all for Japan and the US working together. And he supports Takaichi wanting to meet Kim Jong Un!

B: Seriously? That's a big deal! Talking to North Korea.

A: Yeah, he wants them to have good communication and maybe even diplomatic relations. South Korea wants to help make that happen.

B: That's quite a lot! Where are they meeting?

A: In Nara! Takaichi’s hometown. Apparently, Lee wants to meet her in his hometown, Andong, next!

B: That sounds like a promising start! Hopefully, they can really improve relations.
