In Ukraine, fighting has been intensifying in the country&#039;s south as well as in the east.
                
Russian forces are advancing in the eastern region of Donetsk.
                
The British defense ministry said in its intelligence update on Monday that Russia has likely increased its armored assaults around the town of Maryinka, 20 kilometers southwest of Donetsk City.
                
The ministry also says Russia continues to give high priority to resourcing operations in the broader Donetsk region, including Maryinka, and has expended significant resources for minimal gains.
                
Fighting is also intensifying in the southern region.
                
Ukraine&#039;s State Emergency Service says a Russian missile attack hit a residential building in the city of Zaporizhzhia on Sunday, killing a man and his 11-year-old daughter.
                
The Russian defense ministry said in a statement that a high-precision missile strike near the city of Zaporizhzhia obliterated a storage facility with 70,000 tons of fuel.
                
Meanwhile, a senior official at the Russian defense ministry disclosed on Sunday that a new military unit will be created to counter Ukrainian tank units.
                
The official says Russia has studied the capabilities of the tanks that Germany, Britain, and the United States had provided to Ukraine. The official says the military will train special groups to directly hunt these tank systems.
