US semiconductor giant Nvidia has reported record revenue and net profit in the quarter through January, on the back of strong global demand for its AI chips.
Nvidia said on Wednesday quarterly revenue was up 78 percent from a year ago to 39.3 billion dollars. Net income also grew 80 percent to 22 billion dollars.
Rising demand for AI chips for data centers around the world contributed to the strong performance. Tech giants have been heavily investing in AI and related facilities.
Earlier this year, Chinese startup DeepSeek released what it calls low-cost artificial intelligence. This has sparked concerns about its impact on future demand for high-end chips.
But Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang appeared confident about the future of his company, saying next-generation AI will require 100 times more computing power and even greater future abilities.
