Trump may ease China tariffs if Beijing approves TikTok sale NHK

US President Donald Trump has been ramping up tariffs on goods from a range of countries. Now, he's considering lowering some. Trump says he may ease levies on China to wrap up the sale of TikTok's American operations.

The US recently enacted a law to ban the video-sharing app unless Chinese parent company ByteDance sells off its American business.

Trump then temporarily delayed the enforcement of the law.

The president recognizes the sale may require approval from Beijing. He says he's weighing a cut in tariffs on China as a bargaining chip.

US software giant Oracle is among several companies that have been reported as potential buyers.
