Arab, Islamic nations plan emergency talks after Israel's Doha attack NHK

Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries are set to meet in Doha on Monday in an emergency response to an Israeli attack on a Hamas delegation in the Qatar capital.

Israel last Tuesday killed five people in a strike on the Islamic group's delegation that was in Doha to discuss a ceasefire plan.

One Qatari security official also died in the attack, which was denounced by Qatar, Arab nations and others.

Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera reports that countries planning to participate in Monday's meeting are working on a draft resolution that includes concrete measures against Israel.

Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister's office announced on Monday that Benjamin Netanyahu held talks with visiting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Details of the talks have not been disclosed.

Before the talks, the US State Department said Rubio will convey US priorities on Middle Eastern security, and discuss goals and objectives related to Israel's military operations in Gaza.
