In Pakistan, a fire on a bus carrying people displaced by the country's severe floods has left at least 18 dead, including children. The passengers were evacuees relocated to near the country's biggest city Karachi. The bus was traveling through Sindh Province on Wednesday night when fire engulfed the vehicle. Local police say about 50 people were on board. Many were apparently heading home to areas where the floodwaters had receded. One passenger said, "Suddenly the bus caught fire. A few passengers were safe, but many of my family members didn't make it." Police suspect the fire started in the air conditioner. Heavy rain and flooding since June has left more than 1,700 people dead and upturned the lives of tens of millions. A third of the country was underwater at one point. Many areas are still affected. Meanwhile, Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai visited Sindh on Wednesday and called for continued global support. She heard first-hand about the experiences of people displaced from their homes. Malala also met with local government officials and told them how students' educations have also been disrupted.
