She emphasized the importance of the alliance between Japan and the United States and aims to build a personal relationship of trust with US President Donald Trump, while also addressing the issue of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea. Additionally, Takaichi plans to fundamentally strengthen Japan's defense capabilities, beginning a review of three national security documents with the goal of revising them by the end of next year and speeding up the plan to raise defense spending to 2% of GDP.
