China's government has kept its border control measures such as mandatory quarantine unchanged while easing its strict coronavirus restrictions inside the country. Health authorities said on Wednesday that the latest review is mainly for domestic measures. They added that border control will be optimized based on laws and other rules, without mentioning possible specific steps for inbound travelers. China requires visitors from abroad to present negative results of PCR testing done within 48 hours before flight departure. They must also quarantine at hotels or other designated facilities for five days, followed by three days of self-isolation.
