The Islamic group Hamas is releasing six more Israeli hostages under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. They are the last living hostages to be released under the deal. Reuters and other outlets say five of the six were freed on Saturday. If all six are freed, it would bring the total number of captives released by Hamas under a deal between the group and Israel to 25. The group handed over the remains of four other hostages on Thursday. But Israel said one body did not match the identity of the woman who Hamas said it was. It accused Hamas of "a violation of utmost severity." On Friday, Hamas handed over another body, which was later confirmed to be that of the woman. The group is scheduled to return the bodies of another four hostages next week, reaching the total of 33 hostages agreed to in the deal. In return, Israel is releasing hundreds of Palestinian detainees, in addition to over 1,100 who have already been freed. A six-week ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect on January 19. Both sides have said they are ready to start negotiations on a second phase of the ceasefire. But reports say they have several disagreements, including the future of Gaza. That's become even more complicated since US President Donald Trump proposed making the enclave into a Riviera-style resort.
