A: Hey, did you catch the news?
   B: Not yet, what's up?

A: Well, it's been 30 years since those three US servicemen in Okinawa assaulted a minor.
   B: Oh wow, I hadn't heard that! What happened after that?

A: The police arrested them but the US side refused to hand them over. This caused a big protest in Okinawa.
   B: That sounds tough for everyone involved. But they did something about it, right?

A: Yeah, they tried to tighten their discipline and prevent crimes. Sadly, even with those efforts, crimes still happened. Remember the case in 2016?
   B: The one where a woman was killed by a US base worker? I remember that was sad...

A: Right, and since then, over 123 cases of US military members involved in heinous offenses have been suspected.
   B: Wow, that's a lot. And it seems like Okinawa still hosts most of the bases. I can see why they want change.

A: Exactly! They want both governments to review the agreement and make the bases smaller to lighten their burden.
   B: That sounds reasonable. Hopefully, things will get better for everyone in Okinawa.
