The Japan Tourism Agency says the number of foreign visitors who stayed at inns and hotels in the country totaled 10.38 million in April. The figure is up 19-fold from the same month last year and 92 percent of the pre-pandemic level. The number of domestic travelers who used such facilities increased 12 percent year-on-year, reaching 37.24 million. The combined figure of 47.63 million is up 41 percent from the same month a year ago.
