Ukraine's government says it will allow men aged 18 to 22 to leave the country. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 have been banned from crossing the border since a general mobilization order was issued in response to Russia's invasion. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko posted on social media on Tuesday that "men aged 18 to 22 will be able to cross the border without hindrance during martial law." Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko also posted a message on social media. He wrote, "The purpose of this step is primarily to provide young Ukrainians with broader opportunities for education, internships, and legal employment abroad so that they can later use the experience they gain to contribute to Ukraine's development." Multiple media outlets say many parents in Ukraine send their children to foreign countries before the kids turn 18. Some observers believe this move is an effort by the government to stem the exodus of young people. ---------------- Quiz 1: Why did Ukraine's government announce a change in border restrictions for men aged 18 to 22?
