Police in central Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture have notified a child consultation center over a 13-year-old girl who allegedly stabbed her mother to death with a knife.
They received a call from a family member shortly before midnight on Monday that a woman had been stabbed at her home in Makinohara City.
The woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Sources say she had multiple stab wounds to her neck and elsewhere.
Police questioned her daughter, who was at the home, and she admitted to committing the crime.
