The CEO of one of the world's biggest makers of chips used in generative-AI systems has told Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio he will do his best to supply products to Japan. US-based Nvidia makes graphics processing units, or GPUs. The company's president and CEO, Jensen Huang, met with Kishida in Tokyo on Monday. Nvidia's GPUs dominate the AI hardware market and are in high demand globally. Kishida reportedly asked Huang for a stable supply of the devices to Japan. Huang said, "Demand is very high but I promised the prime minister that we will do our very best to prioritize Japan's requirement for GPUs." Huang also said he wants to work with Japanese firms aiming to build large-scale data centers, as well as those developing language models.
