The Trump administration's 25-percent additional tariff on imported automobiles is a headache for foreign carmakers, but is also starting to hit US manufacturers. Ford Motor says the tariffs will force it to raise the price of some of its models made in Mexico and sold in the US. Ford on Wednesday announced the price hikes will be applied to an electric vehicle, a pickup truck, and an SUV built after May 2. The company aims to offset the increases with a campaign through early July that offers a wide range of models to the public at employee-discount prices. A Ford spokesperson says the higher vehicle prices do not reflect the full cost of the tariffs. The move by Ford is raising speculation other major automakers will follow suit.
