Japan's main ruling party has put together a set of recommendations for the government's new comprehensive economic package that will be released later this month.

The Liberal Democratic Party says the government should take all measures necessary to shore up the economy.

LDP policy chief Hagiuda Koichi handed the proposals to Prime Minister Kishida Fumio on Tuesday.

The plan says bold moves to ease the burden of soaring electricity bills are important. It also says gas costs must strike a balance with electricity fees.

The party calls for government action to take advantage of the rapid decline of the yen against other currencies.

It suggests enhancing the export capabilities of small and midsize companies. It also proposes working on restoring and expanding demand among foreign visitors to Japan.

It calls for structural wage hikes and more support for parents with children up to the age of two.

The LDP says the government must do all it can for Japan to overcome a national crisis. It says the scale and content of the new economic package must provide a sense of security to the public.
