2. A man in his 80s was attacked by a bear in a field in Akita City, also in Akita Prefecture, resulting in injuries to his face. Another elderly resident was injured by a bear near his house in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture.
3. There has been an increase in bear attacks leading to injuries in northeastern Japan this year. Local authorities have increased patrols and issued warnings against Asian black bears.
